CO2 LASER SURGICAL AND ABLATIVE FRACTIONAL FOR REJUVENATION AND TREATMENT OF SCARS AND STRETCH MARKS
The CO2 Smartxide DOT laser allows to treat a wide range of face blemishes. It can be used in two modalities:
- surgical mode
- ablative fractional mode
Laser treatment can be performed outpatient and using contact anaesthesia (an anaesthetic cream to be placed 1 hour before treatment) or by local anaesthetic infiltration.
In surgical mode, this laser is a valid ally in the treatment of:
Avoid exposure to sunlight and / or UVA lamps in the weeks preceding the treatment. Do not take medicines that increase skin sensitivity to light.
After treatment, it is necessary to apply locally an antibiotic ointment for a few days until healing. The treated areas must be protected with high protection solar filters for 8 weeks and the redness disappears within a few weeks.
In “fractional” mode, distributing laser energy on a wider surface, creating superficial epidermal microablations, the CO2 laser can also be used for aesthetic purposes for:
It is ideal in cases where chrono and photo ageing have made skin less elastic because it not only eliminates the superficial layers of the epidermis, but is also able to allows an important retraction of the collagen and elastic fibres present in the dermis making therefore the skin more tonic and smooth over time.
3-4 sessions are usually required on a monthly basis. It is recommended to repeat 1-2 sessions a year to maintain and intensify the results.
It can often happen that the clinical improvement of the treated region is still visible months after treatment, as regenerative biological processes are still ongoing. It takes 1-2 days of rest after each session. If you suffer from Herpes Simplex, please advise your doctor, who will suggest you a suitable antiviral systemic prophylaxis.
