5 myths about laser hair removal
- 'Laser hair removal is a painful treatment'
FALSE, especially if you go to medical centres that use state-of-the-art technology, such as our Deka Again laser, which thanks to its cooling system makes treatment as comfortable as possible
- 'Laser hair removal is the same in all centres'
FALSE, in fact there are different types of lasers, mainly two, aesthetic lasers and medical lasers, which use different powers and technologies and therefore offer very different results.
- 'Before each laser epilation session, the hairs must be shaved'
FALSE, we always recommend coming to the laser session with at least 1/2 millimetre regrowth to ensure a complete and more comfortable treatment
- 'Laser hair removal is a method that can damage the skin and is less safe than other traditional systems'
FALSE, the technologies available to aesthetic medicine today ensure safety for the skin, in fact laser hair removal is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis, through which hair follicles are destroyed without damaging other nearby structures. It should also be borne in mind that laser hair removal is not radiation that accumulates in the body, and therefore has no consequences or repercussions on general health in the short, medium or long term.
- 'Laser hair removal cannot be considered permanent'
FALSE, if we are talking about the body, and TRUE, if we are talking about the face. More and more studies show that the laser permanently removes and destroys hairs with a high percentage and in the majority of patients as far as the body laser is concerned, on the other hand, on the face we cannot consider it permanent because of the possible hormonal changes this area may be affected by.
At our centre you can contact our team for a no-obligation consultation before your laser session. Contact us to book or if you would like more information!
