What is the difference between localised fat and body weight? What to do?
When we weigh ourselves on the scales we are measuring the weight of our body, but we cannot see how the fat mass is distributed over it.
People of the same weight and height may have very different builds depending on how much fat is there and where it is distributed in their body: some may have very pronounced 'love handles', others 'culotte de cheval', etc... These imperfections are very often a source of insecurity, great discomfort and loss of self-esteem in those who suffer from them, because they are particularly difficult to get rid of.
The solutions that are adopted first are diet and physical activity. And indeed in most cases this is sufficient to reduce excess localised fat. In fact, by losing weight, the 'belly' or 'hips' will also be reduced, but to a lesser extent than the fat in the rest of the body. The fat that tends to accumulate in a specific area will in fact always remain noticeable (although reduced) compared to other areas.
This is because it is not possible to lose weight only in the areas where we want to without the help of targeted treatments.
So what to do?
When, despite having lost enough weight, localised fat deposits just do not want to be reduced, one has no choice but to choose between cosmetic surgery, with liposuction for example, but which many consider too invasive and with too long a post-operative recovery time. Alternatively, one can turn to aesthetic medicine, which offers non-invasive treatments that are effective in reducing localised fat, without side effects and with the possibility of immediately carrying out normal daily life activities after treatment.
At Samsara Medical Centre we treat localised fat deposits with our Lipo-Lytic Protocol, which consists of a customised combination of different technologies, in a synergetic manner, to achieve the best results with minimal invasiveness, thus helping our patients regain their lost self-esteem.
