What is red light led photo biomodulation?
Red light photo biomodulation is obtained by the direct action of a particular light on the skin of the patient. This light photoactivates fibroblasts (resulting in increased collagen and elastin production) and at the same time it inhibits the enzymes that destroy the collagen. It is a technology developed by NASA to speed up the wound healing process of astronauts. The treatment is completely painless, effective and without contraindications.
It can be associated with any other procedure used in aesthetic medicine, intensifying its results. Its main indication is the treatment of photo-ageing, improving fine lines, stains and skin texture. The protocol provides a cycle of 10 sessions (20 minutes per application), twice a week, followed by a session per month of maintenance.
Photo biomodulation with blue light
It helps to reduce proliferation and eliminates the bacteria that cause acne. Acne phototherapy is based on the fact that Propionibacterium acnes (responsible for acne pustules) produces porphyrins as part of its normal metabolism. Stimulated by blue light, porphyrins are activated, with subsequent elimination of bacteria.
This light is ultraviolet-free and not carcinogenic. This treatment is suggested for mild to moderate acne. It can be combined with other treatments and suitable to any skin type.
Each session lasts about 20 minutes, for a total of 6-8 sessions, 2-3 times a week.
Maintenance is carried out with topical home therapies that will be suggested from time to time by the dermatologist.
