What is it for

The main action of Mesotherapy (also known as Intradermotherapy) is aimed at the imperfections of cellulite, fat deposits and water retention. The treatment involves the direct injection of specific active ingredients indicated both for the elimination of excess fluid and excess fat. These 'cocktails' can also have detoxifying purposes, regenerating the tone and elasticity of the tissues and the natural radiance of the skin. The advantages of Mesotherapy, which injects drugs and substances directly into the areas to be treated that would otherwise be taken systemically, are numerous. Certainly the main advantages are greater control and precision of action, targeted to the areas treated, with doses and concentrations therefore lower than those needed to obtain the same results by ingesting the drug by mouth. In other words, the drugs are injected exactly in the area where the blemish is present, in a targeted manner and with noticeable results in less time and with greater effectiveness.

How it works

The treatment involves the intradermal injection of drugs and/or active ingredients that are defined according to the objectives, acting directly in the affected area. The injection is performed using very fine needles, specially manufactured for Mesotherapy, which allow very precise control of the injection depth of the substances. The substances used in the injection mixture vary in type and concentration and are subdivided into anti-oedemigenous substances (which reduce swelling), revitalising substances (with an anti-ageing effect), substances that protect capillaries and surrounding tissues, and finally lipolytic substances (which reduce localised fat).

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions are needed?

It depends on the imperfections, their severity and the extent of the areas to be treated. On average, about ten sessions are carried out on a weekly basis, and once the objectives have been reached, recalls are repeated on a monthly basis.

After treatment?

The area should be kept free of loose-fitting clothing or accessories that could restrict blood circulation. Also avoid strenuous physical activity in the hours immediately following treatment.

Side effects?

Practically absent. In some cases, small bruises or moderate swellings may appear, but these tend to dissolve spontaneously after a few hours or days at most.

Is it painful?

For most people it is not painful, but it can cause some discomfort in some cases, especially during treatment. For this reason, the injected solution also contains a very small amount of anaesthetic, which prevents any feeling of discomfort or pain.

Contraindications?

Contraindications are directly related to the drugs used and their greater or lesser dilution. Therefore, it is possible to detect side effects, but directly related to the specific constituent drug, which may manifest themselves as slight swelling, local itching or redness. For these reasons, it is very important to have a preliminary evaluation by the dermatologist who chooses the most suitable drugs and adjusts their dosages. It is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
