What is it for
Through the effect of rejuvenation and improvement of skin texture, processes activated by Microneedling through the stimulation of collagen production, it is possible to solve even obvious problems such as superficial wrinkles, expression lines, stretch marks or post-traumatic scars, whether surgical or post-acneal, to name but a few of its benefits. The versatility of this technology allows its application even in areas that are 'difficult' to reach or because they are very sensitive. This happens because although the procedure is based on a mechanical stimulation caused by micro-needles, these are almost imperceptible and in any case the procedure is completely customisable in both its depth of action and its intensity. In this way, it is possible to achieve targeted and excellent results by relying exclusively on our body's innate self-healing abilities. The ideal areas for application of this treatment are the face, but excellent results are also achieved in the neck and décolleté area, and even in the breast, abdomen and hips. One of the most noticeable and immediate effects of Microneedling is the improvement of the skin's radiance and texture. This is why it is also particularly suitable as an alternative to more invasive laser techniques. In order to amplify and optimise the effects of Microneedling, we use pro-active substances, such as vitamins and hyaluronic acid, and complementary treatments, such as peeling.
How it works
The operating technology of Microneedling is based on a concept as simple as it is ingenious: the innate regenerative properties of our skin are exploited. In fact, when stimulated by the instrument's micro-needles, the damaged skin initiates tissue repair mechanisms that 'rejuvenate' its structure in the days following the session. The final effect is a widespread stimulation of collagen, the protein that makes up to 90% of our skin and is responsible for its tone and elasticity, which tends to progressively decrease with age. Increased collagen production naturally improves the appearance of the treated skin, resulting in an overall rejuvenation. Repeated treatment maintains constant collagen synthesis, thus slowing down the skin's natural ageing process.
Frequently Asked Questions
It obviously depends on the case and the goals. Ideally, at least 4 sessions (1 every three weeks) are recommended. At the end of the first cycle, 1 treatment per month is recommended until the final goals are achieved.
Yes, the treatment is contraindicated in the case of bacterial infections on the area to be treated, such as herpes or other infections, which must be properly treated before the treatment can proceed. It is also contraindicated in the presence of particular skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, autoimmune diseases or in the presence of active or infected wounds.
Slight skin irritation immediately after the procedure, which resolves on average within 24-48 hours.
Although micro-needles are actually mechanically stimulating cell proliferation, even in the most sensitive areas, this mechanical process does not induce pain and is commonly very well tolerated.
Simply avoid exposure to the sun for at least four weeks.
Professional Microneedling has been shown to allow a clinical improvement of 50 to 70% with a series of 5 to 7 treatments if carried out at regular intervals. It has also been shown to be effective in cases of atrophic scars and scar retractions, among the most difficult to treat, with clear and visible signs of improvement.
Depending on the size of the treated area, the duration can vary from 30 to 60 minutes.
