What is it for
A technology based on cold therapy, used in specific areas of the body to selectively eliminate fat cells and thus non-invasively reduce localised fat deposits. Cryolipolysis is an aesthetic treatment that is applied particularly in the large areas of the abdomen, hips and chest, but is also very effective in other areas such as arms, legs, inner thighs, culotte de cheval and knees. Although cryolipolysis does in fact reduce, sometimes very significantly, the amount of fat in the treated areas, it is by no means to be considered a method of slimming. In fact, it is more to be considered a form of 'non-surgical liposculpture' as it is very effective in reshaping the body, redefining volumes, proportions and shape harmony. Lipolysis, i.e. the effect of selectively melting fat cells, through cryolipolysis can be modulated in a targeted and progressive manner, with a permanent effect. It therefore represents in some cases, after evaluation, a valid alternative to more invasive interventions or surgery.
How it works
The fat cells are subjected to a constant temperature of -12°C for 30-40 minutes. This heat shock kills them and they are then naturally eliminated in the following weeks by the body. The significant reduction in the number of fat cells actually allows the treated area to be reshaped, reducing its volume in a given area of the body. The repetition of the sessions makes it possible to obtain increasingly visible effects in the reduction of the thickness of the panniculus adiposus throughout the treated area, results that are usually visible within 60 days of the first session.
Frequently Asked Questions
The number of sessions may vary depending on the extent of the blemish, the objectives and the anatomical area to be treated. On average, the first results are visible a few weeks after the initial treatment. In order to optimise effectiveness, treatment should be repeated every 45-60 days until the desired goals are achieved. These goals are achieved better and in less time by also following the advice given after the first session, particularly with regard to the diet to be followed.
The treatment is not painful. In the weeks following the treatment, slight soreness or a feeling of anaesthesia may be felt in the treated areas. However, these sensations resolve spontaneously in a short time without the need for any additional treatment.
The duration of a session is 30-60 minutes. It does not require any special preparatory activities, while it is strongly recommended to drink plenty of water in the following weeks and to stick to the recommended diet.
The treatment is contraindicated in cases of pregnancy or lactation. It is also strongly discouraged in the presence of liver disease or connective tissue disease (connectivitis). The treatment is also contraindicated in all diseases in which cold is a trigger for worsening symptoms (cryoglobulinemia, cold urticaria, Raynaud's disease, acrocyanosis, etc.).
