The nutritionist's advice: ideas for healthy, balanced snacks

One of the most frequently asked questions to our nutritionist concerns the snacks one can have during the day, in particular ideas for varying one's diet.

Here are some examples recommended by Valentina:

  • Dates and walnuts: the simple sugars contained in dates together with the 'good' fats in walnuts reduce the glycaemic peak, providing a satisfying and satiating snack. Furthermore, walnuts are among the dried fruits the one with the best omega 3 to omega 6 ratio.
  • Matured Parmesan cheese +36 months with a small fruit: very high biological value protein and fat from Parmesan cheese, matured 36 months so that it is very digestible and tolerated combined with a fruit, refreshing and energising
  • Whole white yoghurt with 100% chocolate chips: contains protein and fat, great snack on days when we don't move around much and don't need too much sugar
  • Coconut milk drink with added bitter cocoa, no added sugar: this drink promotes mental clarity, but unlike coffee it does not create gastric upset and is better tolerated, coconut with its medium chain fats gives energy
  • Avocado cream with celery and raw carrots: the avocado with its good fats gives us satiety and taste
