3 false myths about slimming

Summer is here and this is one of the times of the year when people resort most to drastic last-minute diets to get ready for the swimming costume test. It is indeed an opportunity to get in shape, but we must beware of some myths circulating that do not help those who want to lose weight!

  1. To lose weight, just eliminate carbohydrates: false, carbohydrates are a fundamental part of a balanced diet as they provide glucose, used by the body as an energy source to perform daily activities. So-called refined carbohydrates, such as biscuits and white bread, can be eliminated.
  2. I must consume a lot of protein: untrue, although protein is recommended within diets to lose weight, one must eat balanced! Excess protein also creates imbalances in our body.
  3. I can't eat junk food: untrue, you have to have a balance without depriving yourself of what you like, in fact constant giving up causes frustration and stress
