To what extent are anti-ageing creams actually effective?

The first signs of skin ageing start to be seen as early as 25 to 30 years of age, inevitably, despite a healthy lifestyle and constant care of one's skin.

This is why the cosmetics market offers thousands of new anti-ageing creams every year that promise to fight wrinkles. But are they really effective?

The main purpose of anti-ageing creams is to activate our skin cells through different types of stimuli in order to achieve an improvement in radiance, texture, firmness, etc.

But do creams eliminate wrinkles?

The answer is no! If not temporarily. Today, in fact, 'botox effect' products are all the rage, which, after being applied, dry to form a sort of invisible 'film' that literally 'stretches' the skin, giving an apparent wrinkle-reducing effect. These are therefore products that act only superficially, giving a cosmetic effect.

There are, however, many other anti-ageing facial care products that have unquestionable improving effects, but these should be chosen according to skin type. The fact remains that if the wrinkles are very deep then no cream will be able to help.

What can I do about my wrinkles?

Aesthetic medicine offers a wide range of preventive treatments to slow down or delay the appearance of wrinkles. Or one can resort to specific treatments to reduce their visibility. There are for this purpose either non-invasive treatments for those who do not like needles, such as non-surgical lifting, the 4D Fotona laser, non-invasive Microbotox and others, or injective treatments such as Botox, hyaluronic acid filler, biorevititalisation, PRP...
