Skin hydration: what we need to know
When properly moisturised, our skin looks healthier and brighter.
This also applies to acne-prone skin. Indeed, there is a tendency to believe, erroneously, that oily and acne-prone skin does not need moisturising. In truth, it is very important to provide the skin with the right amount of moisture even in these cases, taking care to avoid oily products, which would risk worsening the skin's appearance even further.
So which products should be used to keep the skin moisturised without 'weighing it down' and risking clogging pores?
Products that help retain the water already present in the skin, limiting the natural phenomenon of trans-epidermal water loss, preventing dehydration (TEWL - trans epidermal water loss) and reinforcing the hydrolipidic film, known as the skin barrier.
These products generally contain HYALURONIC ACID, which, thanks to its hydrophilic nature, is able to retain water in the dermis and epidermis, CERAMIDES, which are natural active ingredients that help keep the skin barrier intact, protecting the skin from external aggression, and VEGETABLE SQUALENE, which has a soothing, moisturising and protective action on the skin.
There are many products on the market that can provide this protective effect of the skin barrier, including the products of Samsara Medical Center, which can be purchased at our centre in Lugano.
