Beauty Tools we can do without!
The beauty market is full of tools that we can also use at home for our daily beauty routine, both body and face. These devices usually promise miraculous results.
But are they really that useful?
Many of these items are presented as indispensable tools that allow targeted treatments for particular blemishes, sometimes being very expensive.
Let us look at some of them:
Anti-cellulite cups: as we often tell you, these cups work by exploiting the vacuum effect, i.e. a local suction of the skin, which is intended to reactivate the microcirculation and promote fluid drainage. Unfortunately, this 'do-it-yourself' practice is often painful and can also cause bruising, leaving unsightly marks on the skin. A more effective and safer alternative is our Venus Legacy, a machine that uses the vacuum effect in a controlled manner, combining it with radiofrequency and electromagnetic fields to stimulate fluid drainage and collagen production.
Jade roller: this instrument is used to massage the face to stimulate circulation and superficial lymphatic drainage. It can certainly be a source of a pleasant massage and can be used to apply creams and serums, but not all the promised benefits are found, in fact for deep stimulation it is preferable to perform targeted treatments, such as radiofrequency, non-invasive microbotox, etc...
Gua Sha: often sold in combination with the previous tool, this is simply a heart-shaped stone to be used to massage the face and neck. This too can be pleasant, but certainly not helpful in improving skin tone and firmness as is said, which is why we offer treatments such as the 4D HIFU, or the Fotona 4D Laser.
Ice globes: these are spheres that are filled with water and left to freeze in the freezer, after which they can be used to massage the face. They promise to decongest the face, reduce puffiness and dark circles under the eyes and reduce fatigue and inflammation. Unfortunately, to reduce puffiness and dark circles under the eyes, cold alone is not enough. In fact, non-surgical blepharoplasty or fillers are often used, and the instrument itself can easily be replaced by any object placed in the freezer and placed on the face.
Vibrating facial cleansing brush: sold at high prices, this tool is sold to perform a deeper facial cleansing due to its vibrating effect, but there is no scientific evidence to prove this. We usually recommend deep cleansing of the face for impurities on a regular basis and cleansing with products specific to your skin.
All these instruments can be replaced with everyday objects that we find in the home; moreover, as they are not medical technologies, the results they promise cannot be obtained, especially when it comes to home treatments. At our Lugano studio you can find a wide range of non-invasive medical treatments to take care of your skin, water retention, swelling, etc... do not hesitate to contact us for any information.
