All the benefits of Retinol
Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A and has become a must-have in any self-respecting skincare routine, but why? What is it used for?
Anti-age
This active ingredient has a strong anti-ageing effect on our skin, thanks to its regenerative properties that stimulate the dermis cells and progressively improve the complexion by stimulating collagen production, giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance. It also acts on the finest wrinkles, and the perceived effect is one of greater radiance to the face.
Acne
The sebum-regulating action of retinol acts by reducing the volume of the sebaceous glands and thus limits sebum production. It also accelerates cell turnover, improving the spots left by old, healed furuncles more quickly. It also has an important effect in reducing the size of enlarged pores.
How to use retinol?
When introducing retinol into your skincare routine you should give your skin time to get used to the new active ingredient. Initially, we recommend using retinol products 2 non-consecutive days per week to check for redness or other signs of skin irritation.
Retinol is not suitable for all skin types, so if your skin's reaction is very strong (cracking and redness) it is better not to use it and ask for advice on another type of product (or try using less and less frequently).
The Samsara home product line exploits the properties of retinol for the night cream, or you can opt for a more intensive treatment based on retinol at higher concentrations.
